Meet Our Doctors

Matthew Keeffer, DMD

This was my first visit to Dr. Keefer and I was pleasantly impressed. Dr. Keefer was very friendly and knowledgeable in what he was doing he was very upfront with his thoughts and I liked that. I’m definitely going to continue going to him.

Dr. Keeffer, originally from Ogden, has lived and worked in various places including Italy, England, and several eastern states. He also served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Portugal and Cape Verde. Prior to dental school, he received a degree in dental hygiene and worked as a hygienist for several years. He graduated from the UNLV School of Dental Medicine in 2016 and returned to Utah with his wife and child. Dr. Keeffer now resides in West Haven and is excited to serve the Layton community.

Keyvan Namazi, DDS

Dr. Keyvan Namazi is a skilled and caring dentist who prioritizes patient comfort and quality care. His attention to detail and professionalism make every visit a great experience.

I’m thrilled to be a part of the Fairfield Dental team and to be back in the community where I grew up. After completing dental school in Texas and gaining valuable experience practicing in Texas and Colorado, it feels great to return home to Layton. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and cared for at every visit—whether you have a specific concern or simply want to maintain a healthy smile. I’m committed to providing personalized care tailored to your needs, and I’m always here to answer questions and share my knowledge so you can feel confident about your dental health. When I’m not in the office, you can find me enjoying family time with my wife and kids, diving into a good book, or catching up on the latest binge-worthy shows after the little ones are in bed. Dr. Luis Franco - Endodontist

I had a retreat root canal done yesterday, and have had zero pain afterward. Dr. Franco has the nicest bedside manner and has the greatest skills to go along with kindness. I highly recommend using him for your endodontics!

Dr. Franco is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as an officer. He received his degree in Flight Operations from Westminster College, DDS from the University of Utah and completed his residency in Endodontics at Boston University. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association. Dr. Franco has a passion for educating others about patient care and the incredibly interesting world of endodontics. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, swimming and learning how to play the piano and electric guitar.

Dr. Shaun Heward - Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

I had oral surgery today. I had anesthesia and everything went perfectly. The whole team was great! Dr. Shaun Heward, the surgeon, is so caring and kind. He called me twice before my surgery to explain everything that would be done and to answer my questions. It really put me at ease.

Dr. Shaun Heward was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. He attended Alta High School and completed his undergraduate at University of Utah. During this time he worked as a dental laboratory technician making crowns and bridges. He then moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he completed dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Following dental school, he began medical school at the University of Michigan Medical School. While at the University of Michigan, he also completed his internship in general surgery, residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and was a chief resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Heward has extensive surgical training in corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), tumors/cysts of the jaws, face trauma, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, cleft lip and palate, face reconstruction and bone grafting. He is delighted to have moved back to his home state of Utah and working with Platinum Dental Services. He also has a passion for serving others abroad and continues to treat less fortunate patients on mission trips overseas. When Dr. Heward is not at work he enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, biking, shooting, gardening, wood working and cooking.

Dr. Daniel Burstein - Orthodontist

I was looking for an Orthodontist and am so glad I found Dr. Burstein! He was very nice and knew the best treatments to help me get my best smile. I would recommend him to anyone!

Born in Santiago, Chile in 1960. My family moved to the USA in 1962. I grew up speaking both English and Spanish. We moved to California where I went to college, dental school, and orthodontic specialty school where I became an Orthodontist in 2020. My wife and I moved to Atlanta, GA in 1993 where we raised 3 boys who are now all out of the house. I have owned and operated my orthodontic practice in Atlanta since 1995. I recently sold my office to join Platinum. I have years of experience in managing an orthodontic practice both in clinical and administrative areas. I am proficient in all clinical aspects of orthodontic care. I specialize in expanders, habit appliances, braces, bite correctors, in house aligners using Orchestrate 3D software, as well as invisalign. My goal is to join a dental/orthodontic group where I can concentrate on providing treatment to patients in need. I joined Platinum because I aim to provide care to those in need without the distraction of running a private practice. I also look forward to enjoying more professional interactions and participation in more interdisciplinary orthodontic treatment plans.

Dr. Vanessa Bikhazi - Periodontist

Vanessa Bikhazi is fantastic! She’s professional, kind, and always makes sure I feel comfortable during my visits. Highly recommend her!

Dr. Vanessa Bikhazi received her Doctor of Dental Surgery followed by a 3 year specialty degree in Periodontology from New York University. She performed research investigating conditions resulting in osteonecrosis of the jaw with an article published by Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology Journal. Dr Bikhazi believes in oral health and how the oral cavity is interconnected with the health of her patients. She is passionate about educating her patients on periodontal disease and how conditions of the mouth can influence the health outcomes of the body. She enjoys time with her husband and pets. She also enjoys traveling, skiing and movies. She loves to spend time with her family.
